Gort Scott are currently looking for a BIM Co-ordinator to support the development of Revit within our existing workflows and act as a team BIM Co-ordinator across a range of projects; carrying out regular maintenance and audits of BIM projects; supporting staff in the correct use of Revit software in accordance with Gort Scott’s BlM protocols. Review and address quality-related aspects of BIM.
In addition, the successful candidate will explore and promote the implementation of Design Technology related methodologies and skills within the studio, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), parametric design and building analysis.
Gort Scott is a design-focused architectural and urban design studio, based in Bermondsey, London and working on a varied portfolio of interesting public-and private sector projects. With a background in research, public realm and small-scale projects, the studio is now working on larger projects as well as continuing to work on finer grained schemes. The studio has won a number of awards including the NLA Mayor’s Prize, a Civic Trust Award, RIBA National Award and shortlisted for the Architect of The Year Award.
Through our projects we aim to create better connections between people and the places where they live and work. This is as much through experience of space, light and materials as the dynamics of land use, ownership and civic participation.

We recently extended an existing building to make our own office. Currently we are working flexibly in response to COVID 19.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have exceptional Autodesk Revit skills and understanding of IT to deliver architectural drawing packages
• Enjoy being organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Have a logical approach and enjoy solving problems
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Enjoy both working in a team environment and alone
• Be comfortable co-ordinating tasks and overseeing people
• Be keen to learn and take ownership for tasks
• Have a passion for architecture and design and the wider implications of BIM for the construction industry.
The following qualifications and skills are required. Please check your particular experience fits the criteria prior to applying:
• 2+ years in a similar role
• 5+ years working in Revit
• A relevant design degree
• Experience supporting others in learning and development of Revit skills
• Experience of managing office-wide Revit resources
• Experience of BIM Execution Plans on complex projects, involving multiple organisations and federated models
• Broad knowledge of BIM practices, standards and techniques
• Proficiency in related BIM design and delivery tools (e.g. Navisworks, Dynamo)
• Good communication, including fluent spoken and written English
Key responsibilities
• Agree outputs and deliver completed packages of information within agreed programme and time frame.
• Carry out tasks relating to the delivery of project information using a range of software packages such as Revit including associated plugins, Dynamo, Navisworks and Vectorworks.
• In collaboration with project architects and other collaborators, create content for relevant CAD/BIM applications to support project requirements, including creation of BIM Execution Plans.
• Advise on the appropriate BIM protocols for the project and lead in the use of such protocols.
• Maintain and help develop Gort Scott’s BIM strategy and BIM library, in line with BS EN ISO 19650 standards.
• Support the development of other users in Revit software and BIM protocols, and their transition from Vectorworks where necessary.
• Support BIM users to maintain efficient and effective BIM operations.
• Communicate clearly and positively with other members of the project team, external consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers advisory, statutory, and other relevant bodies.
• Promptly report to Project Owner if problems are forecasted.
• Deliver the required quality standards in accordance with the Quality Management Policy and Procedures and in accordance with the requirements of the project, bringing to the attention of the Project Owner any issues which may arise.
• Support the Project Owner to ensure projects are compliant with Professional Indemnity guidelines.
• Maintain drawing standards consistent with Gort Scott’s graphics standards.
• Explore Design Technology related methodologies and skills within the studio, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), parametric design and building analysis.
• Identify opportunities for research and development of Design Technology strategies that enhance the practice’s approach to design and responds to developments within the industry.
• Co-ordinate the induction process for new arrivals to the studio in relation to BIM/Design Technology skills and processes.
