Southall Tower Southall, London

Southall Tower Southall, London

Proposal for Southall’s tallest building, a residential and office tower, anchors a wider area of new development and introduces a generous public realm.

Client: Workspace
Project Status: Phase 1 completed

Next to a planned Crossrail station and between main roads, this prominent site is complex and highly constrained. This mixed-use proposal provides 67 high-quality residential apartments and a cafe and office spaces at ground and first floor level. It negotiates a two storey change in ground level around the base and offers improvements to the intersection. Playspaces, amenity spaces and the adjacent public realm has been integrated into the design.

Gort Scott's core design objectives have been to create a logical construction that makes maximum use of the site and presents an elegant facade and silhouette on all sides. Particular attention has been given to ensuring the building enhances the urban experience as it touches the ground. Extensive consultation with Ealing Council and local community has been undertaken.

The project has been submitted for planning and was given favourable pre-application feedback from the GLA and Ealing.
